Yuko Miki and Ryota Kanasaki have adopted Classical Music repetition and variation as the basic structure of composition, treating piano pieces as materials for electronic sound, while attempting to launch sound phenomena into space. "Piano Variation_0000" is a re-edited version of the sound installation piece "Piano Variation" created for the exhibition "Tsunegasaki no Nami" with the artist Kei Okamoto. This sound installation piece is based on one untitled piano piece composed by Miki for a concert held in 2022. Miki improvised and recorded eight versions of the original piece. Subsequently, Kanazaki processed and edited them to create piano and electronic sound sources, which were then presented as a sound installation piece played through eight speakers. Originally a single piano piece, the music has evolved into various variations over time through the collaboration of the two artists, culminating in a single piece that is digitally distributed. This can be seen as a work born from the process of iterative derivation and aggregation of attitudes by the two artists.
